I Am A Diabetic And Had Inguinal Strangulated Hernia .

I am a diabetic and had inguinal strangulated hernia . Prior to my surgery, the sugar levels were extremely high ranging from 200 mgdl to 320 mgdl. Post the surgery, the levels have dropped and now reflect around, 70 mgdl to 130 mgdl. My question is whether the hernia infection would have induced higher sugar levels, if so what test needs to be taken to reconfirmed diabetic or not. Just to add, I am on oral anti diabetic medicines.
