I Am A Systolic Hypertensive Patient With 2 Corinary Stents

I am a systolic hypertensive patient with 2 corinary stents taking amlodipine and metoprolol ER 25mg. I was on amlodipine 10 mg and coozar 50mg before the stents. My doctor changed coozar to metoprolol er after the stents. I questioned the change but was told this was better because of the stents. I am a retired pharmacist and if I remember correctly the preferred medication for a systolic hypertensive is a CCB and an ARB. Am I missing something ?? Thanks Ken
