I am embarrassed but have a large abscess on my right buttcheek. It is extremely sensitive to the touch and I tried cutting the skin with hopes it would pop. I am however finding that it simply bleeds without puss or the abscess reducing in size. I’m afraid I haven’t reached the sac holding the pus and may have only cut through the epidermis. Is it safe to continue cutting? I am using a sterilized scalpel.
