I am experiencing a flutter in my neck and then a skipped heart beat. There is no pain but is an uncomfortable feeling. I had an artificial aortic valve placement 4 and 1/2 years ago and had these skips before. They were diagnosed as benign and not to be worried about. They seem to occur more in the late evening. I take Metropolol, 1/2 tablet twice a day,one in the morning and one before bed. The skipping episodes seem to have increased lately at times accompanied by gas and burping. Could alcohol and the fact that I do not take the Metrooplol with food be the culprits? I am 70 and in excellent physical condition. My last visit to my cardiologist was very satisfactory. Can I do anything to lessen these skipping episodes.
