White discharge does mean infection in the vagina. Get it examined by a gynecologist. The possible infection could be either bacterial or fungal. It can get transmitted to your partner as well if you are sexually active. So till then abstinence or a protection like condom shall be necessary till the problem is resolved. Other causes can be non infective as well like hormonal fluctuations mainly.
