I Am Taking Synthroid 50mcg For About 8 Months. Lately

I am taking Synthroid 50mcg for about 8 months. Lately I have been hungry all the time, even when I have finished a meal. Is this hunger feeling a side effect of taking this medication? My doctor says I need to lose weight - about 20 lbs so I am afraid to eat all the time.
