I currently live in the san francisco bay area and work as a concrete mason. I have had at least 6 episodes of heat exhaustion and 2 maybe 3 episodes of heat stroke. All this started in Florida, continued in Hawaii, and now in northern California. I hydrate myself as much as possible but I always seem to be dehydrated. I drink mainly sports drinks like Gatorade, and have now started on pedialyte with little or no effect at all. Besides finding a new vocation out of the sun, is there anything I can do?
