I desperately need help. I am a 26 year old male with a 40 year old husband. About a month ago he had what I would call a psychotic break, locked himself in the bathroom and tried to harm himself with scissors. I had to kick the door in. His personality has flipped dramatically, and my husband I fell in love with seems to no longer exist. He's saying very out of character things for him, a lot of them very mean and hurtful to me as his husband. I have kept a digital diary of how he's acting, which I started the day after the crazy scissor incident.(I can provide those notes if necessary). I struggle with severe depression and anxiety myself, but never have I acted like that. He has been seeing things that don't exist. Ex) He claims for the last 5 years he has been followed by a black cat named 300 and it tells him to do bad things, he even states that it has told him to kill his ex boyfriend, which scares the crap out of me. This all started July 1st, 2016. He is extremely irritable, seeing things that aren't there, and to be frank, he's been a complete ass to me and nothing I do pleases him. I am very concerned because in the past he would have never treated me this way, and not to be crude, he's turned into an ass with no regard for anyone but himself and his own jaded opinions. I've tried to get him to check in somewhere so they can get his meds adjusted properly, but of course he refuses and is very stubborn. I'm only 26 and wasn't expecting to deal with this at this stage of my life and I really need some guidance. I took my marriage vows seriously and cannot abandon him, but I just don't know how to handle this. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP SAVE MY MARRIAGE! Also, please advise me if you think I could be in danger.
