Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I developed a bursa the size of a golf ball on my elbow. I went to urgent care and they sent me to a ortho. They gave me a padded sleeve to wear over it and said it should go away and said any invasive procedure could cause an infection and they wouldn't do anything else. It's been a month and there is no improvement. My other elbow is now starting to feel like it is going to do the same. Should I get a second opinion? Is there a safe procedure to "drain" the fluid build up? I have fibromyalgia and have needed rooster comb injections in my knee for arthritis. My leg and knee have been swollen for a month also and still having a lot of pain. Dealing with IBS too. I feel like I have inflammation throughout my body and wondering what I can do. After seeing several Drs I have not been satisfied with them just telling me to ice, heat and take OTC anti-inflamatories. I have had every test under the sun and all blood work, etc. has always come out great so healthy in that way. I have always been a very physically active woman and working. About all I am able to do is work and come home and lay in bed with my legs elevated and ice. Any advice would be very welcome as I'm very frustrated. Thank you.
