I Experienced Extreme Pre-menstrual Lower Back Pain And Lower Abdominal Congestion
Six days ago, I experienced severe lower back pain which made walking, sitting forward and getting up and sitting down extremely painful. Six days ago was also when I assumed pre menstrual bloating, food cravings, etc were to set in, which they also did. Menstration still hasn't occurred, but the severe lower back pain, lower abdominal congestion, cramps, bloating and fatigue remain. My breasts went through a period of soreness during all of this as well, but it has since subsided. I have ruled out pregnancy as a cause for these symptoms. I'm a 28 year old female, and am extremely concerned that something serious is going on with my reproductive/lower pelvic region. Could someone please give me insight as to which direction to take with this?
Hello.
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
Since your period is delayed, pelvic congestion is causing all these symptoms.Your periods will start in a day or two and then all your problems will subside.Just wait and watch for periods to start.

I'm less concerned here with the lack of menstruation, and more concerned at the severe and abnormal symptoms that I'm experiencing. This has been happening to me for quite some time, but this particular month, the symptoms are markedly more severe and debilitating, and the lateness of menstruation is growing. What I'm looking for is a direction to go in. As a student, I'm limited financially as to what resources I can access, and would like an opinion from a professional source as to whether I should start with an orthopedic specialist, a gynecologist, or if this should be considered a vascular issue with relation to pooling in the veins. I'm also aware that an MRI could open doors for me, but again I am a student, and my budget is limited.
