I Fractured My Pelvis Back In July. As A Result

I fractured my pelvis back in July. As a result I had several rods and screws attached to my spine and pelvis. I have had a continual problem with chronic pain. Recently the pain at the hardware locations has become unbearable (Even with Dilaudid and Robaaxin) . One of my surgeons has viewed my CT scan from this last Friday, and has said that the hardware is good to be removed. I called to make an appointment with the surgeon who put the hardware in, but he will be on vacation till Jan.4.. This pain is un-livable. If I were to go to the emergency room, would it be possible to have another doctor remove the hardware?
