I Got My Period When I Was 11. It Usually

I got my period when I was 11. It usually occurred every 2 months, and it never did get to every month. Last year, age 16, my periods stopped for 6 months. I went to the doctor and my period just occurred again before the appointment, so I was sent for blood work and an ultrasound to check for PCOS. Nothing came back and I was put on birth control in August. Since August I have had 2 periods per month but the doctor and I agreed that it might be everything catching up. Now it's December and there is some pain at the bottom of my abdomen and tenderness and discomfort when I press just below my abdomen (almost feels a little swollen). Now there is some dark brown/black discharge mixed with some blood and its almost as if once I press the tender spot I have a period. Is it worth getting worried over or is it just something I have to let me body sort out?
