I Had A Lumbar Laminectomy About 4 Or 5 Weeks

I had a Lumbar Laminectomy about 4 or 5 weeks ago but i'm still experiencing pretty extreme pain in my back when I stand even for a short period of time or when I walk about 100 steps or a little more with my walker of course. Is this normal and do you have any suggestion to stop the problem? 5 mg valium as a muscle relaxer and other pain meds don't help either.
