Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a baby 3 months ago. During the pregnancy I was told I had a yeast infection which I was treated for, I had a negative test before the birth. After the birth my tear would not heal the doctor I saw tested me and said I had bacterial vaginosis. I took oral antibiotics and a vaginal cream and they did nothing. I asked to be tested for yeast and uti at that time but they did not test me for that. Every time I use the bathroom there is a lot of tiny white things floating my urine. I have a white/grey discharge funny smell from my vagina. I was on ahccs but no longer have it since I am not pregnant anymore. I saw a doctor 5 times after the birth while I still had insurance, they wouldn't test me for uti or yeast I asked every time. Don't have money for a doctor. I am breastfeeding and don't want to take antibiotics while breastfeeding. Not sure what to do. If I could find a doctor who would find out what was wrong maybe I could save up to pay cash I just can't afford a ton of visits for one problem. Also I was abused as a child and wonder if I could have a std, I've always been too scared to get tested but now that this is going on I'm wondering if it could be that. Can you have an std your whole life and not know? I've had white weird smelling discharge my whole life, thought it was normal until the pregnancy they said it was not normal and said I had yeast. I just don't know what to do.
