Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a mild irritation in my left ear some ten days ago. I shoved some cotton buds multiple times and a lot of orangish wax came out what we usually call dirt. And the ear was absolutely fine. I, then, thought why shouldn't I clean the right one too. The first time I shoved the bud in my right ear it kind of got blocked and it is blocked since then. I think I'm sure that I haven't damaged any thing or part of ear as I feel no pain or irritation. It's just blocked. I can hear from this ear but very little sound goes in so hearing is considerably reduced. I went to a general physician two days after blockage and he guessed it might be a throat issue and prescribed me some antibiotics and kunoxy(ofloxacin) ear drops to use for three days but in vain. I thought may be it's the build-up of wax that I pushed a little too far inside so I used warm olive oil so that it softens the wax or whatever to finally come out but no result. What I want from you is to suggest me any remedy if you have otherwise going to an ENT specialist will definitely be the next option. Regards
