Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a normal chest, abdomen. and pelvic CT in 2013. Started working in a very old building that I was told by co-workers that the building has asbestos and we were not allowed to put tacks or holes in the walls. I was sick and put on antibiotics for an average of every 8 weeks after being there for only a couple of months (started employment August 2014). In June 2015, I had an abnormal CT showing ULQ nodules. Which were removed during laparoscopy and tested positive for as a rare benign form of mesothelioma. Also have asthma and are on allergy shots. This building also has a moldy smell. Coincidence? I've been told by some physicians that I have sick-building syndrome. I love love my job but I have so many medical bills that I feeling the stress, I also have medical insurance. I cannot imagine how much more difficult my life would be if I didn't. Is asbestos know to cause my issues of such short-time of exposure? Although I'm being followed by an oncologist and a pulmonologist, My asthma seems to be worsening which is understandable if I'm horribly allergic to the allergy shots I guess. Normal CT's thus far since removal of mesothelioma. Asbestos allergy? Severe mold allergy?
