I Had A Nurse Examine Me For Life Insurance And

I had a nurse examine me for life insurance and my bp registered 147/103. Since that time, I have been checking my bp multiple times per day on my home electronic monitor and it is reflecting a bp as high as 155/113 to a low of 133/103. I have since gone to my cardiologist and he checked my bp (i was super stressed i admit and nervous). On his office monitor, I registered 140/103. I was put on Micardis - 40mg for a cpl weeks and set to revisit the doctor in 2 weeks.

I immediately stopped smoking and have been walking 30 minutes per day all week..

I am sooo worried that with my bottom number consistently above 100 that I will have a heart attack or stroke while waiting for 2 weeks for the meds to get into my system. Are my levels dangerously high in the short-term?
