I Had A Septo Rhinoplasty Almost 3 Months Ago.In My Left Nostril The Wall Of My Septum Is Swollen Blocking Air From Coming In And Ou

In my left nostril the wall of my septum is swollen blocking air from coming in and out. Is it possible that it healed wrong and is worse than it was before. Or is it just still swollen? About 8 days after surgery i had a checkup and there was a little infection on the wall of the septum on my right nostril. The dr drained the infection and put a packing in the right side for about a week. Can this have pushed the septum over and messed it up. I hope its just swollen or else i would have to have it done again. I have a check up soon so i pushed it to a sooner date because im worried. Thank you.

It seems that a septal hemataoma or abscess was drained one week after your septo-rhinoplasty. Was nasal packing done post-op? It is possible that the drainage was insufficient. It is also possible that the excessive packing on the right side has caused adhesions on the left. Ideally you should be examined again. You should be on medications to reduce swelling / infection. If there is a doubt, a CT PNS Scan will settle the issue. Corrective surgery, if required, can be carried out later.

Hi,
postoperative swelling wont be there for 3 months, i think you may be having infection along with collection of pus or blood which may be pushing the septum to oneside, if you have pain along with swelling consult your ENT surgeon immediately you may require incission and drainage along with antibiotic and anti inflamtory medication.
Take care
