I Had My Lower Left Impacted Wisdom Tooth Extracted A

I had my lower left impacted wisdom tooth extracted a month ago. The extraction was so traumatic. It took 5 hours and 2 dentists to pull it out and in the end I was too tired and in too much pain to accept waiting for a suture to be put in.This means the extraction hole healed while open. I was on antibiotics for about a week and the pain has since ended. However I now have a soft dirty white lump filling up the hole. It does not hurt but can be a bit uncomfortable when I poke at it with my tongue to move it around and rinse that side of my mouth rigorously. Is this lump normal or should i find a new dentist to check it out? Given my experience the last time I am very reluctant to go back.
