I Had My Period Last Week And I Felt The

I had my period last week and i felt the pad was rubbing and irritating my skin, i was away for a couple of days and couldn't shower, i started feeling very sore down then i noticed 4 hard lumps on either side my viginal/ lips, ive had boils before and this is what they feel like, i went and saw a doctor and she wasn't much help, she took a swab for herpies and told me to come back in 10 days, i feel they are boils or large pimples, is there a cream or done thing i can put on then to help.
