I Had Several Shunt Placements And Other Issues, I Still Get Reocurring Headaches, Kindly Suggest
I was born with hydrocephalus in 1980. Had several shunt placements and other issues. Shunt was taken out in 2001 and said that i would not need it anymore. But i still get reocurring headaches most often at the site of the burr hole and side of the shunt. I still get earaches and have jawpain with diziness. What could be going on ?

hello welcome to healthcaremagic, the pain you get at the site of burr hole may be cranial neuralgia that the cutaneous nerves that is the nerves at the site of surgery gets damaged which cause that pain which can be treated by a neurologist and regarding earpain and dizzines it may be related to your balancing organ in your ear which is not working properly which can also be treated quite well by a neurologist. so dont worry this is not related to your hydrocephalus.
