Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had surgery June 10 the plan was to remove my uterus for fibroids. During the surgery my doctor didn't like the look of my left ovary it has come back as serous ovarian cancer with low malignant potential. I have just recently been to the Cancer clinic for a follow up she told me that during the surgery the ovary had broken and spilled so the doctor performed washes. She doesn't feel that there is any risks and don't require any further treatment. I can decide at any time if I want the other ovary removed. The doctor did say she will have a biopsy consult with the other doctors in the clinic to confirm this and call me next week. My concern is how do we know for sure the other ovary is healthy and also that there were no cancer cells left, even though washes were performed.
