I Had Surgery For Chiari Malformation I Six Years Ago.

I had surgery for Chiari Malformation I six years ago. This year I've discovered that hard physical work, like gardening, can give me Chiari symptoms. They gradually faded over three months, and I no longer do work like that. A recent MRI as followup to this event showed that my brain is in a better position than it was after surgery, but I have balance problems and can't walk far without getting a Chiari-like symptoms, such as worse balance, foggy brain, weakness. The neurologist said the problems I'm having could be due to brain damage that was done before surgery relieved the pressure, and this area of damage continues to deteriorate. What's the long-term outlook for patients like me?
