I had surgery for a stone lodged in the ureter. it was cut out of ureter and a stent inserted for 5 weeks. My urine cult was (+) for enterococcus. I was treated with Macrobid as I am allergic to pcn. I had stent removed on May 15,2018 and was hospitalized for hydronephrosis with severe pain and vomiting after stent removed. I was started on Macrobid again and jjust had a negative urinalysis. They were to do a urine cult to re-check the enterococcus but since the urinalysis was good they said they did not have to do the urine culture does this sound right. I still feel they should have done the culture.
