Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had swelling of the gum on the inside of my upper right teeth that felt quite severe and went to the roof of my mouth. I also noticed a movable lump on the outside of my jaw line just under the skin not in mouth on the same side. I don't know how long it's been there and only slightly tender to the touch. I went to the dentist who only felt the lump on my lower jaw which and looked inside my mouth at the same point. He said I has an abscess and gave me antibiotics for 3 days and prescribed a mouth wash. I am concerned because he didn't look at the upper gum which was causing the pain in my upper teeth although that is a lot better due to the mouth wash. The lump on my jaw is still there and the same size and I have only one day of antibiotics left to go. Could it be an abscess or could it be a swollen gland or anything else.
