I had symptoms of a stroke today. I am 33 yo with a history of osteosarcoma (6 years cancer free). I also do not have great kidneys from all my treatment, but they are stable. I don’t smoke and only drink on occasion. The initial presentation was a tingling left arm with a left thumb twitch. That was accompanied by weakness as well and trouble with grip. I thought I had a pinched nerve, so I went to the Chiropractor. He did the same adjustment he has done 60 times over. I proceeded to notice the weakness on my drive to work. At work, I realized that I felt foggy, like cotton was in my head. I could speak normally, but my left hand was shaking rapidly and suddely. This was follow by weakness in the left leg. I called my chiropractor and he told me to go to the ER. By the time my coworker pulled the car around I had to shuffle walk to get in the car. At that time both arms felt weak and I was so tired. I was sent to the local county hospital nearby and they ran a CT w/ and w/o contrastZ they check my arteries and viens. They also performed a MRI w/ and w/o contrast. Doctors said I was fine. No evidence of cancer or stroke. This made me happy, but still aware that something was off. I looked at my EKG and it shows abnormal rhythm, possible enlarged left atrial and sinus tachycardia. My blood pressure upon arrive was 154/111. I’m scared. They have me on a steroid and sent me home. I think something else is going on. Help me. Also, my speech was “technically” fine. I could make coherent sentences and answer questions. There was just the occasional stutter or delay. I am resting at home and my legs feel strong, but the fine motor skills in my left arm are seriously impaired and I don’t feel well.
