I had toenail avulsion on my big toe two-weeks ago... I idiodicaly skipped my follow up. Two days ago, I notice it looked a little strange. Turns out there had still been a very thin layer of Gauze still attached from the original dressing. I remember the PA saying that she was packing something and I assumed it was the Gauze I'd just removed. However, I still have a Gauze pattern and different "sensation" just above the cuticle. Could there now be Gauze embedded in my toe? I've had no signs of infection.
