I Have PCOD, Peptic Ulcer And Had Loose Bowels With Blood. Should I Go To The ER?

I am 37 years old, female. 200 lbs, 5'2". I have PCOD, hypothyroidism, peptic ulcer. In the last hour I have had 2 loose bowel moverments filled with blood. I also have a pain in my left flank area. I have had kidney stones before but have never passed blood. Should I go to the ER?

Thank you for the query.

If there is a lot of blood in your stool and it is mixed with the stool, yes you should go to the ER. Red blood in stool is not caused by peptic ulcer bleeding. Most likely it has appeared due to bacterial infection or inflammatory bowels disease.
Please do not wait with it. Consult your doctor as soon as possible. Stool tests and blood work should be done at first. Colonoscopy should be considered.
