I have RA and have had it for over 25 years. I am 74 years old and over the years have had different treatment plans. I am currently on Remicaid infusion every 4 weeks. I have been on this treatment plan for about a year. I have been noticing that a few days after my infusion I experience terrible pain and swelling in both of my hands and my arms. I am wondering if this could be a side effect of using Remicaid. Prior to using Remicaid I was on Enbrel and Methotrexate which seemed to work well for me but my insurance required that I pay 25% of the cost of the drug which would have been $2,500 a month out of my pocket so of course I could not afford to do that. Any information you could share with me would be appreciated.
