I Have Type 2 Diabetes With Neuropathy In My Lower

I have Type 2 diabetes with neuropathy in my lower extremities especially below the knee and affecting the feet. I also have plaque build-up in the arteries below my torso but without stenosis as yet. What is/are the difference(s) between "clogged arteries" and neuropathy in causing deterioration of the nerves and muscles in legs and feet and does exercise help or aggravate either. I am taking medication for high cholesterol but nothing for the arterial plaque built-up.
Thanks.
