I have a 17 year old granddaughter who I took to the Doctor on Monday. She had not felt well for almost a week. Sinus drainage, cough and tired. Lethargic and somewhat achy all over. When she had a temp (101.1) that is when I took her to the DR. The Dr. gave her ampicillin injection and oral to take home. Her fever continued until yesterday. Today (Friday 5/27/16) her cough continued. Not a deep cough, but like trying to cough something up. One & 1/2 hours ago her mother gave her a cough suppressant and now her feet and hands are slightly swollen. She has splotches on both her feet & hands and also she has some splotches on her body.....as if she has had a reaction to the OTC cough med. Still no fever and no neck pain. One thing that has bothered me over the past months is that she is bruising easily. She has not been her energetic self in about 3 months. Should she be evaluated with some test or am I just an overprotective grandmother?
