I Have A VP Programmable Shunt For 10 Years Now

I have a VP programmable shunt for 10 years now and am having mild headaches, tired, mood changes, and every once in awhile there is a build up and release of pressure? When this feeling happens, a building up feeling of a burning sensation that starts at my stomach and goes to head then it releases through my head to my feet and that stuns me for a minute until I can catch my breath! I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and don't want to jump to any conclusions but I'm nervous about my shunt failing.
