I Have A Lot Of Coughing With Clear, Thin Mucus

I have a lot of coughing with clear, thin mucus and hoarseness. I use a lot of cough drops since I don't want to do a lot of coughing when I am out among people. Cough medicines help, but have not cleared up the condition. Any ideas on what else I should do or try?
