Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a lot of very thick and sometimes bloody mucus in my throat. I have had to have the GERD surgery as my two sphincters in my throat did not work and I had very bad heartburn and repeated upper respiratory infections. As a result of this I eat very slowly. Some things I just avoid all together. But there are times when the food seems to get stuck and will not go down...I end up having to throw up. But what comes up is this very thick mucus not the food! Is this mucus from the asthma my doctor says I have but I have no other signs of? I get no relief from the inhalers I have been given. I sneezed this afternoon and a glob of this thick mucus came out of my mouth with blood streaks. Any suggestions?
