I have a new prescription drug plan that wants me to switch from oxycodone 10mg, to nucyntra it. While the oxycodone takes some of the pain away, it helps me get through the day. I had my hip replaced in August, my orthopedic doctor said my pain could last for up to a year. I have been on this medication for over 2 years, ( I had to go through a lot to get my surgery! ) But I have never had any side effects, or problems with the oxycodone. I never have to take more than prescribed each day. What can I do to remain on my current medication? I don't know what to expect with this new drug. There seems to be a lot of side effects? Currently I also take atorvastatin tab 20 mg. Omega3 acid1g ( just started) lexapro 10 mg once daily ( started 1 week ago ) alprazolam 0.5mg once daily, and ranitidine 150 , 2 times daily. Do I need to worry? I also take extra strength Excedrin more than once a day, I have not had any problems, but am afraid of adding the nucynta it, in place of the oxycodone.Should I have my doctor call my insurance company?
