I have a painful tooth, upper right molar. I started antibiotics (zpac) yesterday. Haven't been able to reach my dentist yet. I have taken a number of motrin, and even some Tylenol 3 with codeine, which I had on hand. The suspect tooth is a capped one which already had a root canal. I also have gum disease which is treated with zpac whenever it acts up. Hasn't happened for 7 or 8 months. Hope to reach my dentist tomorrow. What can be done about the Pain. If I go to the ER is that even worth the trip?
