I Have A Patient With Vocal Cord Paralysis After Carotid

I have a patient with vocal cord paralysis after carotid surgery. He is on PEG tube feedings. He has developed pneumonia. I question if positioning and bolus amounts. He has been noted to develop a cough immediately after PEG tube feedings, even though he is in an upright position. Is there a chance that PEG tube feedings would increase salivation? He uses oral suctioning at home to control excessive secretion.
