I have a question for my father aged, 76. Will the condition of heart failure or low heart pumping cause gastric problems especially at night when lying down to sleep? my father was having suffocation in sleep and swelling in the ankle , found it to be heart failure, was hospitalised and recovered recently. he was taking lasix 40 2 times daily along with other cardiac medicines. after the recent check up dr. reduced it to just 1/2 per day and these night symptoms started almost that day itself. feels like full stomach and that causes him to have an urge to pass stool and now he is passing stool about 4,5 times at night for last 3 nights only. little bit of stool and lot of gas goes out. day time he is absolutely normal and active. he is a chronic heart patient for more than 30 yrs with bye pass done abt 30 yrs back. we tried pills for gas before food too last day. but no improvement. is this something connected with heart pumping?
