I have a sister-in-law who is waiting to be on a transplant list at Vanderbilt. However her GRF is 26 and she has been told she cannot have a CT or MRI, because of having to use a contrast dye. She was taken off Lasix and her GRF went from 24 to 29. Then this past Thursday, she was back down to 26. Is there anything else she can do to bring up the GRF score (which ideally would be 45), besides reducing her sodium intake and staying off the Lasix? She's already been drained of 5 liters of fluid last Sunday, but her feet, ankles, and legs are really swollen. Are there any questions I should ask that might be helpful? I will be one of two primary caregivers both before and after the transplant, assuming that she qualifies. Thanks for any comments. Irene
