Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a small tumor on my right kidney that is 1.3 cm in size. I've had 3 cat scans with contrast that show it to be "concerning for renal cell carcinoma". I've had microscopic blood in every single urine test that i've taken since 2004 up until now. My urologist wants me to wait to see if the tumor will grow more before removing it. It has only grown 3 mm in 6 months. Is it unacceptable to want this removed now? Is this a bad thing for me to want at this point? I feel as if the doctor doesn't want to do the surgery.
