Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a two month old grandson who was born on May 5, 2015 and his actual date of birth was supposed to be August 5, 2015. After being in the NICU for about a month he was diagnosed with Necrosis. He has undergone one operation about 3 days ago, and the doctors are saying that the small intestine have been severly compromised. They did what they could at the time with either cutting out the diseased intestine and patching up the rest. The doctor did not give the family much that my grandson will recover and if he does his quality of life will be diminished. He says that due to my grandsons size and all of the stress he has gone through he may not make if and probably will need to go back in for another operation. What can be done if anything in order for him to have a decent quality of life with so much of his small intestine gone.
