I Have An Acoustic Neuroma In My Right Ear. Over

I have an acoustic neuroma in my right ear. Over the last several years I have had several MRI's, and a cyber knife radiation procedure to help shrink the tumor. The surgeon doesn't want to operate because of resulting total hearing loss. My question is ... I have tried a hearing aid in the affected ear and didn't notice any difference. The audiologist said my left ear is currently carrying the load for both ears and if I continue to wear the aid, eventually it will help and all will be balanced out.

Is this correct or does a hearing aid do little to help? Thanks you. Pat W.
