Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been chewing tobacco (snuff) for 25 of my 46 years. Last time I quit was for 4 years, but have been back to it for the last 5 years. I just gave it up for New Years again, but have concerns with how my tongue feels numb in the morning until I have my morning cup of coffee. I see a periodontist 2x per year and have oral cancer screenings and has always been negative. I have decent healthy gums and teeth and no mouth sores, but if I squeeze my front lower lip there feels like a few pea sized painless bumps which make me worry. Should I get this examined by a general practitioner or schedule an interim appt. with my periodontist. My next appt. is march?
