I have been having pain originating on my right side just below the ribs that wraps around my back to my flanks on both sides. My abdomen looks like I am six months pregnant and is much worse after I eat. On the right side only it is painful to palpate and I have bouts of nausea that nearly send me to the toilet. My father had a bout of severe pancreatitis in his late fourties and drinks alcohol on special occasions only. I am a thirty-five year old woman who drinks socially but certainly not in excess, like my father. Should I be concerned I am going through the same thing. I have four children and the pain is making it difficult to care for them. The pain started yesterday morning, thirty-six hrs ago.
