I have been having problems with more and more discomfort with my neck. I have been told in the past that around the atlas and axis vertebrae there was some oddities as though I had been dropped on my head when I was young. I am more concerned now because it seems that my memory (mostly short term) seems to be diminishing, I am loosing focus, and I sometimes have difficulty formulating my thoughts.

Could a reduction in mental faculty result from my spine and who should I speak to. I spoke to a chiropractor years ago about feeling lethargic and a weird numbing sensation over one side of my head. But he said nothing could be done because of the location of the somewhat damaged vertebrae. I never saw the X-Rays so I can't be more specific.
