Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Get a video laryngoscopy done. If it shows a vocal cord problem, get a video stroboscopy done. By this time you will have a fair diagnosis; however, if you need a second opinion you may share the videos online through a free file sharing site such as www.filesanyywhere.com. Recurring loss of voice, with return to normal in between episodes, can be caused by laryngitis, voice abuse, infection, allergy, acid reflux, chemical or irritant exposure, vocal fold weakness, edema, abnormal vocal cord movements, and a host of rare causes. Knowing your age, patient profile, presence of other medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, hormonal disturbances, anemia may also help in the diagnosis.
