I Have Been On Metoprolol Succ 25mg (12.5mg Two Times

I have been on Metoprolol Succ 25mg (12.5mg two times a day) for three weeks for elevated BP. Started taking on Aug 18th. Two days ago while laying in bed I started to have constant loud ringing in my ears. It hasn't stopped since. I've never experienced this before. I did some research on line and found that it is listed as a Ototoxic drug with this as a possible side effect. I'm not taking any other medication currently. I would like to discontinue this medication as I believe it is the reason for my sudden tinnitus. How long would this drug be in my system if I stop taking it to see if the tinnitus stops? I read on line where somebody that was taking it for 45 days stop taking it immediately and the ringing stopped within 48 hours. I know stopping "cold turkey" isn't recommended but I've only been on it for three weeks. I will try a different BP medicine if this is whats causing this side effect.
Thankyou
Greg
