Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on Niaspan ER for 16 years now at the dose range of 2,000mg daily to decrease the Lipoprotein (a) in my blood chemistry as the cardiologist felt the high level of that substance was the reason for my heart attack with cardiac arrest 16 years ago. I take an enteric coated aspirin 325 mg 3 hours prior to taking the Niaspan and I have never had any real problem but as of late I have been plagued with the overwhelming reaction of flushing and intense itching a few hours after taking the Niaspan. I want to know what their suggestion is to alleviate or cut down on this problem
