I Have Been On Atenolol For Hbp For Over 20

I have been on atenolol for hbp for over 20 years and my doctor said it is an "old" drug and want's to replace it with coreg as my bp has been running a little higher then usual as of late ( 135 - 150/60 - 80 range, I always ran a little on high side ). I had a stent placed in sept. 2007( RCA) because of blockage but no troponin enzyme so no damage to heart muscle. Have not seen to many good reviews about the side-effects of this new drug. I am 58 yrs. old. What are your thoughts
