Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been skiing alot in Colorado and my middle small toe has a thickened toe nail. When I went in for a pedicure she thought it was a fungal infection. It was very interesting.
When I arrived she asked before my pedicure if I had a fungal infection. I have never had one so I said I didn't think so. I had had a pedicure one month before at this salon and I was fine. During the pedicure the 2nd one she said she thought it was an infection and she said she could not use the nail polish because it would spread to other people who used the same nail polish. So if I do have a fungal toe infection it could be that I got it from this salon.
So what should I do? My big toe is also a bit numb on the side. I had a bad accident where I fell off a ladder and I hurt my knee and legs. I thought this was why the toe was a bit numb. I almost lost the toe nail, but it is now okay.
